Bump to Baby

Hello, little one!

These times are precious and fleeting, and there is no better way to forever remember these wild but oh so wonderful times than with photos. I have three kids of my own, and I LOVE my maternity and newborn photos. I love to reminisce about how HUGE my belly was with each little one, the happy exhaustion in my eyes, the utter craziness of preparing for a new member of the family, and the life altering changes each one brought along with the overwhelming, all consuming love only a baby can inspire.

Everyone always says to cherish the days while they are young – but it’s not always easy to slow down and take in these priceless times in our lives. They cry, they wear you out, and let’s be honest, sometimes you want to pull your hair out. And still all parents come to know, these times go by too fast!

Let’s document your pregnancy, the birth of your newborn, their first few days in the hospital, the joy of bringing them home to your family, the sleepless nights and tired days, and the too short toddler years. And don’t worry, I’ll still be here as they grow for their school years, family photos, senior photos and that special day when they’ll get married and start their own family.

So pick out a cute outfit, or stick to your PJs, and let’s capture these memories so you can treasure them forever.

The Bump Diaries

Maternity

Maternity sessions are like a mini session, designed to capture your glow in just 20 minutes. You’ll get a personalized location, with flexible time and date options to fit your schedule. After the session, you’ll have access to a private online gallery, where you can view your images and purchase prints. The package includes 5 digital files (JPGs), with the option to purchase more if you’d like.

How many weeks should I be for a maternity session?

The best time to have your maternity session is around 34-36 weeks. You want to have “popped” so we can see that round belly but not be so close to the end that you’re feeling uncomfortable like a beached whale.

What do I wear?

I have a few maternity dresses in my client closet that I am happy to share, but if you decide to wear your own, the tighter the better.

We want to show off that belly and dresses that fit tight to the underside of your belly do that the best. Have your partner and any older children wear neutral colors so you and that belly can really stand out!

Do you have a studio or do you shoot outdoors?

Maternity sessions are shot on location, so pick a park or your backyard, something that is meaningful or just pretty.

When is the best time of day for my session?

Ideal time of day is the golden hours, sunrise and sunset.. but sometimes kids and schedules don’t comply. Aim for the 2 hours before sunset or pick a location that has plenty of shade and we can make any time work.

How long is a maternity session?

Maternity sessions are 20-30 minutes and yield around 50 images.

I want more digital files/jpgs

You can purchase more files before or after booking.

$350 – 5 files

$425 – 10 files

$500 – all files

When is the best time of day for a shoot?

“Golden Hour” is best for any outdoor sessions although this cannot always happen with kid bedtimes. I am happy to chat through outdoor locations and times when scheduling.

Newborns

Bringing baby home is thrilling (and a bit chaotic)! Make those first few weeks easier by booking a newborn photographer in advance. That way, all you’ll need to do is let me know when your little one is ready for their close-up.

I draw inspiration from you, your home, and the joy of this special time. I bring just a heater and blankets, preferring to use your meaningful baby blankets and family heirlooms. I capture real-life moments—like your toddler’s excitement, baby snuggles on the couch, and big siblings giving kisses—because these are the memories you’ll cherish.

What is your style for newborn photos?

I specialize in lifestyle newborn photography, which is my fancy way of saying I document real life with just a bit of guidance. I’m not into stiff poses, but I’ll make sure the love and joy shine through.

How do we schedule a session when I have no idea when they will arrive?

Shoot me an email now, and we can lock in a tentative date for your session. This also kicks off my prep emails! I’ll send you tips on getting ready for your newborn session, and a week before your due date, I’ll send a “What to Expect” email to guide you through the session day. Once baby arrives (when you finally catch your breath), just send me a quick text or email to let me know, and we’ll pick an official date for the shoot!

How old should the baby be for newborn photos?

As soon as you come up for air!

We aim for the first two weeks, when baby is extra sleepy and squishy. But life after birth is anything but perfect. There are appointments to keep, partners returning to work, older siblings with big feelings, and your own heart finding its new rhythm. That said, I’m all about real life, not rigid rules. Three weeks? Totally fine. Your sanity matters more than a schedule.

How long do newborns sessions usually take?

The best newborn sessions usually wrap up in about 90 minutes, though some can stretch to 2-2.5 hours—depends on how the baby and siblings are feeling! If we ever hit the 3-hour mark, we’re all wiped out, so if you block off that time, we’ll all be ready for a nap when it’s done.

How much is it to buy all the image from my session?

+$200 to include all the images from your session. This options is available at time of booking and after you have seen your gallery.

When is the best time of day for a newborn session?

Whenever your baby will be happiest!

If it’s your first baby, the morning is usually the sweet spot.

If you’ve got older kids, you know a toddler rules the roost. Pick a time that works for them and consider nap times to keep everyone in the best mood. If possible, schedule the session so siblings are there for just the first half. We can knock out family photos first, then send the older kiddos off to school, lunch, or nap while we wrap up the solo shots.

We Have Answers

What does the booking process entail?

All bookings go through my online system—nice and easy. I’ll put together a custom package for you, and you’ll get an email with a contract to review and sign. Once you sign, it zips back to me for my signature too.

For smaller sessions, payment is due in full when booking. For larger sessions booked further in advance, a 50% retainer holds your spot, with the remaining balance due before your session date.

Basically: a few clicks, a signature, and we’re all set. No carrier pigeons required.

What time of day is best for newborns?

Morning is our sweet spot. If this is your first baby, we’ll begin around 9 or 10 AM. Afterward, baby won’t be the only one ready for a nap.

Now, if you’ve got older siblings… buckle up. They run the show. Our goal is to get those sibling shots first—before snacks are needed, meltdowns arrive, or someone decides pants are optional. Once we’ve nailed the family and sibling photos, we usually send the big kids off for snacks, naps, or daycare, and settle in for the quiet, snuggly part of the session with just baby.

It’s all about timing. And snacks. Mostly snacks, some crunchy and some straight from the source.

How do I tell you the baby has arrived?

Once baby arrives, you’ll send me a quick “they’re here!” message, and we’ll lock in a day that works for everyone (including your sleep-deprived selves).

How long do the session lasts?

Set aside 3 hours. The best of sessions can be done in 1.5 hours but that rarely happens. If we make it to 3 hours, everyone is ready for a nap, including me.

What do we wear?

Keep it simple and cozy. Neutrals, soft tones, and textures photograph beautifully. Think “laid-back Sunday morning,” not “matching denim shirts circa 1998.” I’ll send you a prep guide with tips for the whole family—including how to feel like yourself (but polished) on camera.

You specialize in at-home newborns, but my house is a mess!

If tidying makes you feel better, go for it—but no pressure at all. Truly. I’ve been through the newborn haze three times, and making the bed was not at the top of my list.

You live there—it’s not a showroom. I’m not here to judge your laundry piles or spotty windows. I’ll find the best light, clear what I need to, and make magic in even the tiniest corner of a room. Your home is the backdrop to your story, and that’s what makes it perfect.

What is your turnaround time?

The turnaround time is about 2 weeks, so you’ll have your photos ready to go in no time!
